Digital PSAT/NMSQT Reading and Writing asks what a high-utility word most nearly means in this passage. Then it asks whether a student can hold a central idea, use evidence, and infer. MeritCue starts with that Words in Context move and builds into Information and Ideas.

The concession (“would not erase delays”) is the constraint. Eliminate overshoots. Gripe about is the wrong register.
