FAQ

MeritCue FAQ

What is MeritCue?

MeritCue is Reading and Writing habit training for the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT. Students practice a little most days and see clear explanations. The work is aimed at Reading and Writing and at the Selection Index. It does not promise a score. It is built for parents and students first; classroom tools come later.

Who is it for?

Sophomores and juniors who want steady prep instead of a last-minute cram, and parents who want to see that the week happened. Educators can use it for trustworthy practice too.

How is this different from cramming or random practice?

Showing up for about 10 to 15 minutes most days beats a long weekend of rushing. Miss a day, start again the next day. Do not double up to “make up” for it. Parents can open the week and the questions a child missed. They do not watch a session while it is happening.

What is the Selection Index?

National Merit uses a Selection Index built from PSAT section scores. MeritCue helps students treat Reading and Writing as a habit. It does not promise that the index will rise.

Is there a free option?

Yes. You can start free, then upgrade when you want the full season pack or monthly plan.

What does it cost?

Season pack is $69 and lasts one year from the purchase date. Monthly is $12.99 per month. Cancel Monthly anytime; access lasts through the paid month.

What is your refund policy?

A full refund is available within 7 days of purchase for either the season pack or the first Monthly payment. Email support@meritcue.com to request it. Paid access ends when the refund is issued. Later Monthly renewals are not refunded.

How does family access work?

Parents and students each have their own path. A parent can purchase, then connect a student with a family code so the paid plan covers the student’s practice. Parents can open the week, each day, and the questions a child missed. Students do the daily work.

Do you need prior PSAT scores or score-report uploads?

No. We do not collect prior PSAT uploads or score-report files. The diagnostic and practice history shape what comes next.

Is MeritCue affiliated with College Board or National Merit?

No. MeritCue is not affiliated with or endorsed by College Board or National Merit Scholarship Corporation. PSAT/NMSQT and related marks belong to their owners.

Parent path or student path?

The site has a clear parent path and a student path. Parents buy and watch the habit. Students do the daily practice.

Is there a mobile app?

MeritCue runs in the browser on a phone and a computer.
